As far as I know, I own the copyright to my filters, but by submitting them I have granted Filter Forge the right to distribute my filters on this public website. The quick answer is that you can use the filters on any graphics AND sell them as long as you own the rights to said graphics.

The recommended way to manage filters is through favorites. You can create a complex folder structure under favorites.
If you want to rely on search you'll need to create a copy of the filter under 'My filters', then edit this copy to include your favorite keywords.

These blocks with the square grid of pixels show up occasionally in my filters. In this case it might be an issue with a Map Script, but I've seen it with some Math components, too. If this is a common problem, what debugging steps should I try?

The easiest way for me to open and view a shared filter file in the .ffxml format, is firstly to download it as “download linked file” (or “save as” - just try whatever works on your system), then place the downloaded file in the “My Filters” folder, where the application data/library files reside on the computer. Next time you open the Filter Forge application, you will be able to find the filter under the Library folder on the left side of the screen > Custom Filters > ...

The U.I. is really unworthy of such an excellent application as FF.

FF12 - cannot load in My Filters

Filters using non-square previews images
Author: CFandM. I got that submitting one of my filters. So just had to select one of the square images for the preset and resubmit it. So now I always check that before submitting.
Noob question: ffxml files (and how to use them)
Author: Rachel Duim. In your web browser, you can click on the .ffxml link. At that point it should allow you to open the file in Filter Forge. The file is placed in the My Filters folder (near the bottom of the upper left pane) and should run at that point. One caveat: you can't run a FF9 filter in FF7 for example.
The code may be experimental, so be aware of that too.

Crashing the Submission Wizard
Author: CFandM. Once you open this filter it may not crash on the first submission try.....But once you have this filter in your "My Filters" folder just close FF and try to submit it again.....
it seems that when you first add this filter to your folder it struggles to submit but it does.......
License of generated images?
... immediately get a slightly different look. The key here is "different". You have to use your own judgement on this one. I would err on the "safe" side out of respect to the filter writer / artist. And personally I enjoy seeing others use my filters!
