smile:eek: WOW!! I can´t believe that there is ANOTHER excellent, amazing and awesome filter from you that I have also fallen in love is available in the same day as your other state-of-art Droplets

Too much emotion in the same day, I will make some examples later

If I have said how much I love the Droplets filter, is not half of how much I love THIS filter. smile:) smile:loveff: :ff smile:ff:

I like very much the innovation and original idea of making the wonderful 3D shapes in such well done way

AND love also to learn more on how you build filters and see how this is done and that think that this has even a higher potential and be made more interesting things from this.

DIFFUSE CHANNEL ?

Quote
Skybase in filter description

If you feel this filter is running slow, use the diffuse channel to preview the coloring first and then render the finalized output

Sorry to ask what seems to be something probably basic, but

How can I use the diffuse channel?

Where is and can I see the diffuse channel ?

Thanks

Actually here's a tip: taking filters apart is sometimes helpful, but you have to really put it in context and sometimes authors do really weird things that even I don't understand without studying the work in detail. Some authors know math very well so they'll do work that tends to have lots of mathy-inputs. This makes "taking apart" a filter hard because even if you pick out the core of a filter, it wouldn't be obvious how some elements work without the prior math/programming knowledge.

What ultimately helps is to just start from scratch and try mimicking a specific texture or look using what you know. In many cases this can lead to decent filters since you'd focus on what the texture looks like rather than on the technicalities. You do "clean up" after you're done getting the look you want. Now that's wh ere you figure which components aren't needed for part of the effect. In many cases you can clean up or combine or reuse components for multiple elements which helps to reduce render times. (This of course is the hard part as well.)

Having a goal is always helpful. Make sure you have references to look at as you build something.

Lastly, think "procedural" not manual. FilterForge was built to handle both methods but it's a procedural program after all. This is why we have to clean and optimize the filter so it always works in our favor and gives us best results while providing the fastest renders. smile;)

Thanks very much for the answer.

I agree that the best is too take a filter and see how is done and try to learn what the components do and how they are combined and also is very good to ask: what would happen if I do this, or if connect this here, or if I move or take out this.

For the cleanup, I still have to learn more, as I really do not know much how to optimize and what would be really needed or what can be made better in another possible way that could give the same result but in a better way.

I asked above to have the feature of masking and you said you would do it in the next upgrade.

Well, I will not have to wait until you make it, Because I have found the way to do it myself smile:)

Here you have the FF Lifesaver with transparency and using the easy masking way I have found for this filter and using preset 1

Not hard yeh? Wait until you see the next version. It's got that feature but does even more than you wished for. It'll take a while before I upload it.

Feel free to post versions in the forums for others to enjoy.

Hello, Skybase, I have been always loving this filter very much, and is a great and top reason to own FF, and after seeing this filter, it was on the top of my favorites filter and you as user, but I could not use it much in all this time because of complex personal problems

I have seen that the the "next version" that had more features that you told about has never been published, I know of course that you told you told that you told that it would take a while to upload it, and I think that as we are now on 2018, I wonder what happened with this, I think that you most probably have forgot about it, or you decided that when you finished it, not to share it for whatever reason, does not matter, as you are totally free to do what you want.

Of course that I understand it that in all these years and making many things at the same time, and because of the many things that happens in life, some things are lost and you do not do what you wanted. Does not matter, just only wanted to ask

Thanks anyway and be sure that from all the 12236 Filters available until today this is for me included in the top 10 of my favourites of all time

Is a pity that this filter has a low usage, because is really awesome and well done, and like it much how is done and as said in previous post is one of my favorites and even when is already nearly 9 years since July 20 2012, is still great and unique.
