Ooo so this mod's a good start but I think it's missing one extra mile of fun detail.
I just think it'd be darn cool to have the hotspots on that texture be more dynamic so this mod of a mod basically does the alpha thing and then adds hot edges. Same thing goes with other filters where you make an alpha version. I think it adds something a bit more. ![]() |

Thanks for the feedback, but I'm not sure what you mean by "hot edges". Can you elaborate a bit?

I should have elaborated a bit more. The idea was to add hotspots around the edges of where the alpha channel gets generated. I just think this way the filter becomes a bit more dynamic than being a direct filter + alpha channel type of thing. A lot of filters on FF kinda don't do this so I thought it'd be a good opportunity to leave some commentary.
The FFXML file contains what I've added. There's a small chain of 4 components below the portion where alpha channels are being generated. The effect here is quite subtle, but if a couple bits of noise are removed it should give a more fuller effect. This is really just a suggestion so it doesn't necessarily need to be incorporated. Hope this helps. Shaped Volcanic Ash - Mod.ffxml |

I'll take a look when I get a chance.
In the meantime... Here's an example of what you can do with this. You can find the source images use to create this example here. ![]() |
