Description
This filter is intended for editing normal maps so the preview images don't really make much sense.
Swizzle incompatibility is a common problem for normal maps. The swizzle coordinates determine how the colors of the map affect the normals and unfortunately different applications do that differently. Most agree that red (x) affects left-to-right direction (relative to the texture plane), green (y) up and down and z (blue) outwards but that still leaves the question which way? The most common problem is the +y/-y issue since the two most common render libraries disagree there, with DirectX more green makes the normal point more downwards, with OpenGL it's the opposite.
This filter simply inverts the green channel for a quick and easy conversion between DirectX and OpenGL style normal maps. Version 1.1 also allows for inversions of the other channels to handle some more rare cases of swizzle incompatibility.
