I'm afraid it looks more like an iceberg than a waterfall to me.

ghislaine,
check out my waterfall filter in the library. i like parts of what you've done here, like the falls crashing into the water but other parts need work. grab some of my ideas from my waterfall filter and see if you cant use them in yours. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Hello all !
![]() This image shows the difference between a waterfall and an iceberg. Strange! I've never seen an iceberg with steam rising. The compactness of the flow of the waterfall is still dependent on current of the river from which it originates. And if you see the fall as an iceberg, for me it is a success and I interpret it as a fall in the process of freezing, and not as an iceberg. For me, an iceberg has horizontal bands that register the age of the ice. In my waterfall, we do not see horizontal stripes. It should be remembered that this is not a photo but a filter imitating the best waterfall high volume. I spent hours working on this filter and I think I did my best. Hello Craig, and thanks for your kind words. I have downloaded your waterfall and will study it. ![]() visit https://gisoft.ca |

Ghislaine, I can see what you mean about the horizontal lines of the glaciers, but have a look at pictures of Perito Moreno glacier in Argentina (Just do a Google Images search). I think that's what gws was thinking of. Well, that, and Ice Age 2

Hello Morgantao
Nice picture and very funny this artwork. But it is not the real. This link show the real Perito Moreno Glacier. My Webpage This glacier has no steam, lot of horizontal lines and very angular at the top of the glacier. Mine has a wavy top. As said :

Hi Ghislaine. I think I figured out why others are complaining. It's the top edge. Look at your photos of Niagra Falls. The outline of the top is much more flowing than your simulation. Your simulation is not as jagged like a glacier, but it's highs and lows are to a greater extreme than a waterfall.

Hello, Ghislaine, I am very sorry but for me it also looks more like an iceberg than a waterfall, I think that perhaps it is because it is too regular and seamless and has many places the same pattern, there is only one place band that is slightly more darker shadows.
There is a important thing on lots of Iguazu and Niagara waterfalls you can see that the top of the waterfall is neraly totally straight and plain and does not have any bumps and different levels in the top because this water do not jump up at the end it JUST falls. Look for "iguazu waterfall" and "niagara waterfall" in google PARK VERTICAL FOUNTAIN FILTER ? But there is something that reminds me MORE than an iceberg, and it is a big park fountain with lots of water emitters put all togheter, and the haze at the bottom. You can see here what I mean ![]() Imagine the same fountain but with double of water emitters and you will see how similar is to your filter image, at least from my point of view and how I see it. I am sorry that I do not want to go against you and would love to say that I like much what you have done, but I do not feel that this is like an waterfall for me. |

Regardless of what this looks like to any individual person, I stil think this is a wonderful filter.
I guess the reason why each of us sees something different in it is the same as looking at the clouds - Each person can see different patterns in the clouds. It's just how our imagination works. |

If you download this filter, the default image does not represent the new update.
Here is what looks like the filter update. I don't know why they do not change our update default image when we update a filter. This is no good for users because they will think that the filter reflects the first one. ![]() visit https://gisoft.ca |

EDIT: Disregard the following...
Just refresh the page, or if that doesn't help clear the browser cache. The presets are updated, it's just your browser doesn't know it yet. ![]() In any case, Why don't you upload the "iceberg" version too, and call it... I dunno... Maybe Iceberg? ![]() |

Welcome to the fogwall !!
![]() ![]() Is true now, it does not seems to be like a fountain or an iceberg as before, but I am very soory to say to that to me it seems now that I am in a bout heading towards a heavy fogwall. This could be used for a terror movie. What is beyond and inside that fogwall ? Well nobody that entered there have survived to tell us. Be afraid of the fogwall ![]() Is there a waterfall behind all the heavy fog wall ? Well we are looking for a hero that could discover it and come back alive. ![]() I am sorry that I am joking with you and your new version of what is supossed to be a waterfall, but it really was more similar to a waterfall before than now. I do not want to hurt you in any way, but I can´t agree that this is like a real waterfall, sorry.
I agree with Morgantao. |
