An on-off switch on your original Image Bands Collage would have avoided you from uploading 2 of the same filters in the library. Consider designing filters by function not by variation.

Sorry Skybase, but have you downloaded and seen how the original filter is done ?

It seems that you have not done it because you would have seen that the filter ALREADY have a on-off switch for crackles, and is already done this way as you are suggesting, so I have already considered designing the filter right, and have been this way since the first version.

BUT the problem comes from filter forge software that DOES NOT filter the settings that are blocked by the switch, so if you desactivate the crackles and leave only the simple stripes YOU STILL CAN SEE ALL the settings of the Crackles AND the blend modes settings that only work right if you are using the crackles.

AND also important for me for this version is that there is no control locks on the settings, and so the ramdomizer of the "next variant" takes ALL the settings whatever switch may be put, and does not care at all of the switch setting, so will ALWAYS include all the settings for the randomization and you can´t tell it that you do NOT want to include (or want to exclude) the crackles and blend modes.

SO considering this, I decided to do a simple version deleting all the settings and control related to the crackles and so you can choose to have a more simple version with less clutter and possibly faster as it has less components, AND you can use the "next variant" button without the crackles and blend modes, something that is impossible in the full version.

lol... I give up SpaceRay. I did download the two filters and was like... "they're the same" which is what got me going in the first place. But you know, if its FilterForge's problem you were trying to avoid I'd just take that and just shut up.

Typically, I found it a nice thing to do if I just upload a derivative version in the commentary section of the original filter, thus avoiding "copies" in the library. Well, and doing so, I like to promote uniqueness so in saying that I really love to make sure my stuff doesn't look all the same. While some things are similar, they visually don't represent repetition. Thus it's just a way of expressing my core philosophy of uniqueness in art.

But I don't know SpaceRay, I'm just unable to stop myself from being professional online. So if I'm tapping you, it's really just me failing to stop myself from acting overly pro. smile;)
