Agreed. Good filter!
Would be nice if there were some individual 'chaotic' hairs visible in addition to the soft fur clumps. --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

Thanks to both of you! It's great to hear it from two heavy-weight forgers.
I've been working on an update to this filter and added some individual hairs to it, as Crapadilla suggested. What do you think? 
Also, the updated filter now colorizes the individual particles instead of the whole thing, which I think is a better solution. |

It also allows you to use an image or a pattern as a base for the color, which creates quite nice results.

And now some more visual chaos on the individual hairs, like some very slight variation on length & thickness, some curls or kinks, etc...

Biomechanic, I'm glad you like it!
In the lifesaver image I posted, the Size slider was set higher than in the preset (about 400 instead of 300). Increasing the size should help. |

I can't tell you how much I love this filter... ultra realism
How it hasn't earned a Free Filter Forge thingy is beyond my comprehension as it's the only one of it's kind in the library... I'd love the author to tweak it some more and add kinks and curls etc
