Nice! I think it's a good start.

Each of those lens reflections should add (or screen) each other instead of overlay. Maybe add some detail to each of those polygonal objects as well (like small bits of dirt do get reflected). I kinda also feel those polygons are a bit too sharp.

Was wondering: why hardlight instead of additive modes for blending it into an image? I mean it does give it the illustrative feel but that doesn't feel right for a lensflare filter. Also, I'd do some nice textural touches to the flare itself. More additive, less crisp, larger if the reflections are large (flare and its reflections are generally relative to each other).

But ok, aside from that critique (which I always do say) I think it looks cool! smile:) I think what's neat is the use of loops to generate the tail of reflections from the flare source. Very good work!

Thanks Skybase..

I was quite happy getting loops working as well as they do. Since this is my first filter (I have used Demo version now a 5 or so days) I have a lot more to learn, it's amazing what ppl can archive with those noises, curves, impulses etc..

One of the source materials for my flare implementation is this Siggraph video. http://vimeo.com/28676140 There's no way I'd able to replicate all the finesse and detail they have, but I can take ideas out of it and look ways to emulate looks with FF.

One reason those reflections are so plain at the moment is that I had some difficulties to get Loop system work. Among other stuff, I had used Blur in my original reflection design and removed it (and some other stuff) while testing.

These are the next things I hope to add/fix in upcomin versions.
- These original sun flares are are downright ugly. Perhaps I should look around and see how others have solved similar designs with FF toolkit.
- Blending.. It's definitely not the prettiest at the moment.
- Lens reflections need a bit more spice. Occasionally they aren't as clean and regular sized

Also some issues I apparently can't fix due limitations of FF4 control-lines (grey ones)
- Reflection side# vs integer control
- Unwanted rotation of reflection polygons while rotating the sunlight direction.

As a reguest (if FForge ppl happen to read this..) having FFT (and inverse) could help a lot... I know it takes a lot CPU time and most likely not really usable with larger image sizes, but even small ones (like 8*8 upto 64*64) could be usefull.

EDIT.. (25th june)

I can't seem to be able to post updated version of my filter into library. So this one wonn't be availanble immediately.

I did some upgrades. At the moment there are some blurs (with radius adjustement), so the solution is not ideal, but it seems to work nicely especially on the Sunburst.

Next on todo is selection of better blending.
