In this filter I've tried to put many interesting possibilities to play with colors of an image. Let me give here some explanation of the sliders and the way they can be used. Use variation 7 to set all sliders and boxes to default, so you can start your own game.

I Sliders and boxes for mild effects (nice to start with):

1. Velvet Dream and Deep Forest check boxes - they invert a and b channels of the Lab scheme. Deep Forest turns the color scheme to green and dark orange range. Velvet Dream to all the shades of violet. Used together they bring colors to cyan, blue, blue green and violet range.

2. One color world box and One color strength slider. Applies a chosen tone to the image. When strength is set to 100 it creates a toned black and white image. Default - 0 for no effect

3. Color cast box and color cast slider. Creates a color cast. The difference with the previous one is that it doesn't tone the image, but a kind of creates a color layer above the image, so use the smaller numbers of strength. Default - 0 for no effect.

4. No Red, No Green and No Blue sliders. Interchange the RGB channels. Playing with them creates interesting recoloring of an image. Use three different numbers for all three sliders for the maximum color range. If two numbers are the same, it narrows the color range. Three same numbers create a black and white image. Default. No Red = 1, No Green = 2, No Blue = 3. It puts the channels on their original places (no effect).

II Correction sliders and boxes:

Just the usual Hue, Saturation, Brightness and Contrast. Default values for no effect are 50.

III Going wild

1. The Run sliders. They affect the a and b channels of the Lab scheme.
Run to Green (default value is 0) brings more Green to the image when the rest is set to default. Works together with Run from yellow (default value is 100) that brings more yellow when you decreases the value. Same with Run to Cyan and Run from Magenta sliders. They are quite powerful, so for a "natural look" try not to go too far from the default values (10 or 20 are good). If you want just to intensify the color, but not to change them, here is the trick: Make sure that Run to slider values are the same as well as Run from slider values. AND make sure that the sum of Run To and Run from slider values is equal to 100.

IV Total color mess

1. Darkworld check box - inverts the black and white but not the colors.

2. Mess check boxes - invert the RGB channels.

Another use of this filter. Great to creates the rare blue colors of the known flowers.

Feu de Nuit

Used: a picture of pink tulips, Color DJ filter, Photoshop (to tweak the right darkness feeling and intensify a glow effect.

If Color DJ filter appears to be too complicated in use or doesn't create interesting color variations when used with randomizer, you can try a Color DJ Light version (http://www.filterforge.com/filters/12368.html). This is made with less sliders (but also less possibilities to affect the color). And it works better with a randomizer (creates interesting color variations without need of post-tweaking).
