Cool and good variation of the pattern filling topic, like it, although I do not have time to test it
Maybe I could suggest that you could put a switch to enable/disable the hexagons frames, is not that they are bad, because I like the idea, I mean that this way this could be used in both ways.

Thanks for the comment and the suggestion, SpaceRay.
Yes, I also thought to add the chance to use a not-hexagonal design. I will make an update or a new filter.

I really like this. Is there a way to get it to work with non-square images? If my image is rectangular, the presets that have edge-to-edge circle-filled hexagons have empty space on the right. Example:

Yes, this is a problem that I'm facing many times both making my own filters and using filters from the library. FF perfectly works with squared images ( 1x1, 2x2, etc. ), but if the rectangle is not a square ( 2x1, 3x1, etc. ), troubles happen.
I will make a topic about this. Let's see if anybody has a good idea.

To EAdams.
This suggestion doesn't exactly solve the problem of not squared pictures, but it may at least avoid mistakes:
In the Filter Forge menu, do not select any picture, let the default lifesaver.
Then use the control called "Image", in the filter, to select your favorite picture.
This way the final result will be squared, but the used image can be any shape.
I made a new version of the filter, that I'm going to upload. In the new version you can also use the other Image controls ( Image Position x, Image Position y, Image Scale, Image Squash ) to set your Image preferences.

Two updates are coming.
They should completely solve the problem of non-squared images.
