Actually reminds me of the sausage tree, really...

Very cool! Looking forward to fiddling and trying other shapes on this one!

Well let me tell you its a very complicated story...ahhh I was doing stuff and forgot to take those out before submitting.. smile;) smile:)

Serious thou they were just part of an experiment that I was working on...They are not needed for this particular filter so guess I could take them out and submit an update... smile:)
The only rotate you need in that loop is for the branch rotation...

Cool! Looks a bit like those popular lumbar tattoos ("ass antlers")

This could easily be transformed into a complete IFS filter.
Regarding performance:
1. All those rotations in serial ... can you reduce those to just one?
2. If you allow a bitmap buffer (blur) in between that mirror step, it could probably reduce render time 40-50%. Psst FF: A smarter rasterizer would be ideal for alternative output geometry.

Thinking about that IFS filter.. smile;) ...Still on the "To build" list at some point..

1...Yep done and in the library...They were just leftover from something else
and forgot to take them out....

2...Seems pretty speedy at the moment but I will see if that will work to
speed it up more...

Wow. I have already done a pretty simple modification of Tree, and this is very much like FRACTVIS, a DOS and early Windows L system fractal iterator, which allowed you to define the color at each level. Thanks so much CFandM smile:D

Here is another version of tree that uses 2 loops instead of one..Controls marked "A" are for the smaller branches while controls marked "B" are for the main branches....I may do other stuff with this and submit it as a snippet... smile:?:

Very nice again. I may take some of your code and try to create a super FRACTVIS, trying different seed shapes (rectangles etc etc) and perhaps going for a smooth color transition between levels. I've gotten more into loops recently, if you are careful it is not that bad speed wise. L systems are fun! Introducing randomness in some way is a possible direction to go as well.

Go for it Rachel it will be interesting to see a super FRACTVIS.....Yep myself I have been kicking around in the loop loop for some time now....They are fun inbetween the map switch and bomber+ as well....

Doing a proof of concept with a different seed shape and also adding a height restriction on the larger seed levels. What fun!

Since we have the theme of trees going and its relevant...I have submitted an L-System snippet....Its the basic of this larger filter I am still working on....

I look forward to the snippet. I will probably play with it and come up with something... I always appreciate expanding on your excellent ideas. I wish I had more time, but hey... life is busy and borrowing from you is always a good deal smile:-)
