How to use this filter

This filter generates patterns using a 3-color gradient source.
You can alter gradient and pattern by using assigned sliders.
See following lines on how to use sliders.

Component shortcuts

GR -> Color/Gradient controls
K1,K2 -> Kaleidoscope component
OF -> Offset component
RO -> Rotation component

Use "GR" sliders to alter color and gradient. Use sliders "RO", "OF", "K1 to alter gradient pattern.
Check "Select Pattern 1/2" to use alternatively pattern source.
Check "Kal on" to use "K2" sliders.

I think it's cool stuff, although I'd like to think some of these filters could be combined to one or several given the output, despite the mild difference, is almost similar. Some of the variations can probably kept to a couple filters to basically make the filter more versatile while outputting results you're interested in. I think this starts becoming an end user issue, where people just end up digging through their filter library looking for "that one filter that does one thing". In some ways, given there are really no way of transferring presets (or specific looks the user wanted) between filters, the numerous filter variants may be something that might get in the way of the creation process. In the case with FF, it's always "simpler the better".

Also had a question, over the last couple months you've been on a kaleidoscope rampage. Do you use these filters in the context of art or commercial design work?

Most of my filters do have lot of sliders to alter result. If I combine two or more filters I get more and more sliders. I thought it would be better to create separate filters.
I use these filters in the context of art. Although I get some downloads on shutterstock.com and deviantart.com but earnings are small potatoes.

Understood. Over the year or so I saw the filters appear, I kinda saw it was a pretty complicated set of stuff going on, so indeed, it's probably a viable choice to make separate filters. I personally do feel like I'm kinda dropping off a personal philosophy here, but I hope that thought helps. I think there would be a clever way of making very versatile filters effectively. Probably the ones so far will be hard to combine, but for future ones it's definitely doable.

I think there are many people here who talk about how cool it looks, but rarely speak about what the end user goes through when he or she uses the filter or filters. So this is just a thought I had! smile:)
