I guess the original "Frosted" filter isn't around?

With the "Refraction" setting at 0, I'm guessing it shows the original image you refer to? With that at 0 this creates awesome effects independent of any source image.

hey earthbound, no it works how it should smile:) the original image is only used as refraction map, the texture you mean is the one which is getting refracted

To be clearer, I didn't ask whether anything about the filter doesn't work. My question is whether there is another "Frosted" filter (as this is "#2", but when I search I don't find #1). In the filter description for this filter here, "Frosted 2," you write:

Quote

The Filter is the follow-up to my last one called "Frosted" The program is using the original picture as a refracting map for a colorful generated image.

I didn't find this "Frosted" filter the first time I searched, but I just searched again and found it.

I also wonder: what is the source of the texture that gets refracted? It's totally cool in its own right and it seems that it is generative; the filter displays a different texture when I change the variation slider. If it is generative, is that texture generation original to this filter? Borrowed from another?

The refraction map itself is in my opinion very artful and could be its own filter by itself.

here it is:

and yes, the colorful texture is generative and created by using noise. you can see the filter editor (if you have bought the professional version)

Thanks.

Maybe the original "frosted" filter does this also, but that awesome effect of which I spoke (with refraction at 0), here is a super high resolution example of it at my flikr.A super high resolution example output form it at my flickr account.

I really think that effect by itself is worthy of its own filter. Have you posted that? Or was your filter adapted from another filter that does that?
