Nice! I've been down that road on several occasions.

Also if you want seamless tiling, try putting the offset and rotate before the addition of last iteration - this will mask up the seams. You need to enable seamless tiling in the filter > overrides dialog.

Thanks, I'm going to have to work these changes into the official release. As for the cosine palette, I adapted the math from this page.
