I think that the wood panels at the bottom of this filter look amazing, you may want to consider making a filter using that wood patter in a tiled format, that would be great.

CF, wainscoating? interesting. i'd seriously consider cutting off that top part and just leaving it transparent.
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

CF, no. i mean make that top noise part just transparent and leave only the bottom wood part. and then, if you really wanted to get fancy with it, add some horizontal trim along the top of the wood. wainscoating.
