Yeah, the effect on the tree works out great! Kind of reminds of the decorative engravings you see on walls sometimes. That filter might be really handy for making silhouette illustrations come alive!

I probably should have divided my metal filters up more....seems to be too much in one filter that a user might not know is there.....
There's quite a bit that does neither glass or metal....more like color level noise, silver solarizing, silver high pass....etc ![]() ![]() Steve

Interesting, those last two are very cool looking..Are those the trees? The first one of these might have been a before the accident at the GlassWorks...

StevieJ,
Awesome stuff. Can you also post the original (pre-filter image) to the last (silver-esque) image? It's very cool! (It looks like some sort of waterfall landscape or something -- but I can't tell...) ![]() |

Thanx guys
![]() ![]() I just realized that I have been making a HUGE mistake on all of my filters by not including an amount or percentage of effect from the original....thus my filters are full effects without anything in between....and now seem very limitted to me. I was thinking of a double blend from the original for surface and height before the result. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to do this? ssamm, thanks again for the cudo....here's the original.... ![]() Steve

Thanks for posting that image, StevieJ. It's interesting to see how it got changed.
As far as making the filter be also "not full strength", I'm not sure what would look best... From what I remember the original was already mapped to the height (after blur and tone curve) so you might only need one blend for the metal-image and original-image into the surface? But also people can blend any filtered image in their Photoshop (or whatever program), so I don't see it as a "HUGE mistake". ![]() |

steve,
not sure exactly what you're looking for on reducing the effect, but one way on imported image types is to just add a blend near the end. put an 'image' component on either the foreground or background node and your effect on the other. add a slider for the opacity node and you can move from more to less effect over the image. add another slider for 'mode' on that blend and get even more effects. also, on your waterfall, i ran it through CF's latest anaglyph filter. quite nice ![]() If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!
