I am looking for comments. What do you like about it (if anything)? What should I change?

i dont know that i'd change anything. it's an interesting look. very fractal. the only thing i dont know, is what i'd actually use it for. might be good for some alien landscaping or something along those lines, though. sorry, i'm not trying to run the filter down. i do like the patterns and colors and surface effects; i just dont know where i could apply it.
and having just said that, i started thinking... could be useful in 'alien architecture'. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

There are some filters I make just for fun which have relatively low useability...but they just look cool. This seems like one of them to me.
It looks really cool, reminds me of an artichoke

I think it could be used as a mat to make succulent plants.

nice, david. never even thought of the multi-faceted reflective surface aspect. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

This is crazy cool! It's just so...weird! (For me, that's good ).
I'm having fun playing with this filter, but...it doesn't tile. Not seamlessly, anyway. Anybody know why this particular filter doesn't tile like the rest? Kat

Yeah Kat,
I'm rotating some gradient profiles and when you do that they don't "play nice" (tile) at least I was unable to get them to tile. At first I was Quote |

using it to create non-tiling desktop backgrounds |
so it didn't matter then in the 3-D it's not too noticable and where it is I just turn the texture around to the back of the object which is fine as long as you don't animate the scene and spin the object.

Kat,
With the angles set at 90 degree increments it sorta tiles.
I did this one with: Carve Curve=36, Angle 1=360 and, Angle 2=180
I got some feed back on the tiling and am working on a better solution.
................................
Craig,
Thanks!

More experimenting. Discovered if Angles are @ 90 degree increments and Carve Curve is greater than 68 it tiles.
