Why bother doing a heightmap if it doesn't affect the output of the filter?

Here's my suggestion: Run the part right before the final "height" input through a blur of .001 then you can watch the image "pop".

Or even easier- just make it a simple texture.

This is a pretty old filter of mine, so I cannot say what my intent was back then...but I took your advice and submitted an update. It does look much better.

Actually I will do the same thing to my new sci-deco filter as well.
