I sat up for 2 days and nights... (yawn)... and hope to have a few days to rest up and play with other's filters for awhile smile;)

In the mean time, I took the time to start out using Nutsy's "Stars & Nebula" as an appropriate backdrop for my "Spheres". I thought of making a bowling alley but I'm sort of into space things and Nutsy's filter was too nice to pass up not wanting to play with it here.

So, here's a little preview of what I came up with using "Spheres". Hope it might be a bit more inspiring than just seeing a colorful ball floating against a checkered background smile:D

foxxee, i dont recall if it was uberzev or dilla or CF that first did spheres in FF, but they've been done a lot ever since. what i like about yours is, you've mottled the surface on some of them. they have a surface depth that isnt even in places, and that's a GOOD thing. that's what i like about them. i mean, the normal speres are good too, but that extra unevenness sets them apart. well done smile:)

They're very pretty and I like your preview. A filter like Steve is suggesting would be very nice.

Sounds interesting... sound difficult too, but I might give it a try just for the fun of it. More than likely I'll only be able to create something that resembles mixed up mess with white points sprinkled around in it smile:D

Thanks very much for that, Kraellin! I think I saw one here somewhere though that actually had a sort of raised 3D landmass effect to their planets, very cool smile:D

I'd love to have one like that too, Ahimsa! If I can make a decent one I'll share it here with you too, but no promises. I still don't have a lot of confidence in myself just yet with actually 'making' filters. Now 'using' them is the easy part and something I've been doing well with for years, hehe smile:)

Same here. Bet you never thought you would be making filters. It's nice, we finally can make some of the filters we wished we could have had. smile:)

Exactly, Ahimsa!!

Never in a million years could I have even hoped to one day actually create the sort of filters I use to drool over but couldn't afford smile:cry:

Who would have thought such an ingenious invention as FF is, a filter that lets you make filters of all things, would be so easy to obtain and use!
It really has become an addiction for me smile:D

$499 would be better and more appropriate for what we're getting smile:)

Really, this one program does away with the need for any other filter sets or programs. This one allows you to change the filters easily to what will work best for your needs. I'm surprised that we are allowed to earn it.

What's more, we can make money off of the textures we make from this program.

Shhhhh... don't let Vlad hear you guys talk about the value of this great... errr... 'pretty nice' program smile:-p

Really though, I can't get over how many TEST filters I've got saved in My Filters right now. Every time I try to work on one I end up with 3 more to rename and play with later smile:D

Who said we can make money off our filters, Ahisma, that's new news to me smile:?:

When we use the filters and make new textures from them they are ours unless we submit them. I don't think you can sell the preset ones as we turn over the rights to FF when we sumit the filters.

By new textures I don't mean just changing a preset color.

It's best to make some filters that are for your own use only and then all you make from the filter will be yours.

Hmmm, that something I didn't know.

Thanks for that bit of interesting info, Ahisma, and for the little suggestion about keeping a few too smile;)
