hi nikki,
i just tried it out and it wasnt that bad. i only tried it at 1024 x 1024 and it took five minutes exactly, and that was with anti-aliasing on. but, at 3000 x 3000, that would be nine times larger. but, that still shld only have taken about 45 minutes on a straight, relative size basis.
i'm using a 3500 AMD processort, single core and two gigs of ram. and i've got FF set to use 70% of ram. i dont know what your specs are, but that it wouldnt render over night seems odd.
here's a couple things you might try. reboot your machine and try again. sometimes FF will render quite slowly or even crash or not render when you've been using it for a while. it's somewhat rare these days; the folks at FF have done a pretty good job of cleaning up the bugs, but anything can happen to a program running in windows.
go to "Tools\options" and hit the "Render" tab. in that window look for the "maximum amount of ram" field and move the slider up a bit if it's not already at 100%. i forget what the default is, but i dont think it's 100%. set it something over 50% but not all the way to 100%. try around 70 or 80% and see if that helps.
set your image size on 'new image' to 1024 x 1024 and let me know what you get with that.
if that doesnt work, turn off anti-aliasing and try again and let me know what you get with that.
also, in tools\options\render, turn ON the timer for showing the rendering time. it's under the far right tab. when the image is done rendering you'll get a little popup that shows how long the render took.
also, be prepared to give FF your machine's specs.
additionally, you'll get faster help for bug problems by using the 'contact FF' email thing. the FF team doesnt always come into the forums here every day and sometimes dont see all the posts. the contact email is more reliable. you might also, thouogh, post something in the 'Bugs' forum about this.
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!
