Very nice, Sjeiti!!! smile8) I like the sparce presets #8 and #9 the best.....

I was also wondering how this would look with the patterns in relief....rounded on a flat background.....with different textures like metal, chrome, pourus, sponge-like, etc......

Relief is difficult... I tried of course. But I didn't want to resolve to using blurs so I kept it a simple filter. Maybe I'll try a 2nd version with relief.

I was thinking that just using gradient profiles would do it without the blurs.....like in the bar/cage filters.....

Don't get me wrong.....what you have here is really cool.....I'm just always curious to what else can be done with different concepts smile;) smile:)

Well I tried (without blur) and I couldn't get satisfied. Thing is the branches are made up from even patches, hard to use as height input.

I'll try some more... smile:-)

If you are really interested in pursuing this.....try using the gradient profiles with the separation method that Ronviers uses in his "Orb" filters......should work nicely smile:)

This filter really sparks some creative thoughts.....like I was also thinking of a metallic thorn scape.....

Okay, okay......I'll stop smile;) smile:D LOL....

Great filter!!! smile:) smile:) smile:)

Really cool one.. also its ancestor filter smile:) - I agree with Dilla - I also think you should set variation as lead preset - it looks very good

always interesting what attracts. i like this one, too. but, i'd keep the current default. it has good contrast and good definition to an interesting pattern.

presets are switched and pending...

Ojeah... Stevie... the other reason I didn't make it a surface is because the stones component only has two formulas. That might seem as irrelevant since this filter uses only cells. But as some of you might have noticed: a flat, solid fill cell component matches contours with the flat stone component (you can also make stones out of two cells). That stone could of course be perfect for height but you'd lose half the possibilities because of the formulas.

Yeah, maybe combined with Uber's "Cracked" approach might help to acheive it with profiles.....if he would post it up..... smile;) smile:D

Nice!!! smile:)

Kinda the same suggestion on that last one..... smile;) .....maybe use relief to make the crack edges look like they are peeling up......with maybe a grout texture in the cracks like you used in your "Delfts blauw" filter......
