Beautiful. The normal map and the name for the color control are a little odd, but overall, this is excellent work.

The 'odd' normal map can be fixed by removing the Threshold component on the 'height' branch, since the alpha is only relevant on the 'Surface Color' input branch... smile:)

Oh, and the color control should probably be renamed... smile;)

I had similar results when only started my work on the "Chain Mail" and looked for the most optimum way. But "crossing" for the rings was based on "Threshold" components instead of "Blend.Lighten" or something similar what made it 100% accurate.

Here is some examples and snippet which show my results. Maybe, it will be useful...

----Done, thanks for the tip. smile:) And I'm not sure why the color control was left named 'Low' ha-ha, guess I was looking more at the output than the control name eh. smile:p

----Thanks, but it's just a reworking/mod of Constanin's filter. The ONLY reason I felt I should be allowed to submit it is cause I did hack out the 4X rings design before C's was updated to also do that look.

----That is an interesting way of doing it, kind of complicated, but it provides a different look eh. I think I'm gonna leave your filters alone for a while, I already felt like I was just about to step on a toe or three with this one as it is ha-ha, but I'm glad you stopped by and aren't upset or anything. smile:)

Ya know, this shouldn't be an EP, it's not right, it's 51% (at minimum) Constantin's filter. I want to petition this to not be an EP, please remove that status from it, or remove it from the library entirely if you refuse to downgrade it to "just another filter".

jffe, calm down, please smile:D

Your (100% YOUR) work is good. I just wanted to show some ways which could give to this filter a few new views.

P.S.

----Thanks, if you're totally fine with it then I'll calm down ha-ha. I just don't like people resubmitting minor changes to popular filters and bagging the credit ya know, and so being so close to doing that myself, I kinda freaked out. Yer an artist & a gentleman. smile:)

----It's pretty close. I did come up with the 4-ring bit on my own, but then Constantin updated his original one to have it so, other than that it's just down a stripped down/clean version is all. But it's cool, most people probably want his fancier/dirty one anyhow. smile:)
