Thanks, Steve.
I hate that preview. I designed this filter intending it not to tile. For some reason when it is put up on the website and tiled the preview changes. I hate the preview so much that I've resubmitted the filter just to change the preview. The picture below shows what the first filter should look like untiled. Click the image for a bigger view. Just about all of the previews for this filter are messed up. The orbs look much better without the tiling. Anyone know how to stop patterns like this changing when they are tiled? ![]() |

amethyst,
when the filters are put in the library, the web site automatically sets them to seamless tiling. frankly, i think this is wrong, but that's the way it is. so, if you want your previews to stay as you set them, you must set them to seamless yourself and get the looks you want that way in your presets, then submit the filter. currently, that's the only way to do it to maintain control. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Ah, I understand, Craig. I did not realise this and will remember for next time. Thanks.
The actual filter still renders the untiled image the way I intended but it is a shame about the previews as they do not give a good indication of the filter and that first preview is rather ugly. lol |

you're welcome.
the default looks fine now ![]() ![]() here's a suggestion for version #2. do some borders, circular, for the medallions. like, a silver border of metal about 1/4 inch thick or so, as if the medallion was mounted for wearing. maybe a ringlet on top for a necklace, too. silver, gold, and copper would be my suggestions, but maybe just put a color picker in there so folks could make their own. i think it would set these off very nicely. Thanks for the suggestion, Craig. I will have a play and see what I come up with.
![]() As you can see, I changed the first preview. I still think the orbs look much better when they are not tiled though. |
