the round ones remind me of stage spotlights seen from far away and that's a good effect.
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

I didn't think this looked like a bird's eye view of city lights until I looked up images of city lights from space, and it's actually pretty close.
It would be even more realistic if you could add more random lines coming out from the center, and possibly little suburbs as well. Otherwise, nice job! ![]() |

I might look into some radial noise stuff to do that, but i kept getting spokes that were too thin in the center and too wide on the outside. :\

^^This has some constant width spokes somewhere inside it. The spokes weren't my invention though- credit goes to uberzev (I think) |

Pretty cool filter!
![]() You could take it further and make a 2nd version where the lights are actually on a ground of sorts... But I definatly like this version, as it allows for an easy placement on a background of our choosing. Dog - Men´s best friend... until internet came along. |

great filter.
What about a transparent background (instead of black). Then I could lay it over my own planet textures... |

@ PredatorFF - interesting idea, i'll have to see if i can easily do that. My original idea was to make an image i could use in photoshop by turning the layer style to screen, but having a transparent png might be more useful. i could maybe add a checkbox for making the bg visible or not.
