I'm sorry, isn't this an extremely unintuitive, complicated, unrealistic, poorly structured and uncreatively renamed mutation of Galaxy Explorer? smile:dead:

uncreatively renamed mutation of Galaxy Explorer?

Artwork was feature from "COSMIC JOURNEY 1" in a resent art show and received very good reviews...so no it is not an extremely unintuitive, unrealistic nor poorly structured...complicated...for some.

As for uncreatively renamed mutation of Galaxy Explorer...not even close. Your filter is quaint but lacked a great deal of variables which were needed.
COSMIC JOURNEY 1 is a big filter and would take some "learning" of the controls...but hey I make big filters. COSMIC JOURNEY 1 gives a wide range from which to draw from.
Now if your implying "COSMIC JOURNEY 1" is a remake of galaxy explorer you would be off the mark and way out of line! smile:evil:
Or do you own the rights to astronomy terminologies? smile:?:
Or if it was you had a bad day and felt the need to insult others...next time...buy a gold fish to take it out on(there cheap)...hell slap it around a bit maybe even do a little air-boarding torture to it. smile:D
Hey you have a good day smile;)

Can you blame me? Cosmic Journey -- Galaxy Explorer, does that not sound very similar? Also, filters should not scare clients away (if you can call them clients) with myriads of controls/variables. You should hardly need a scroll bar for the controls. They should also be understandable. Zº-Axis 2 ¤? ³Xsi? Quadrupole ²ºº√? Asymmetry ¾? Diffractometer b? Halo view-Ultra view? You should explain your controls at least if the name does not assist the user. Instead of replying defensively, I have decided to turn this into a sort of learning experience. I do realize GE is a huge filter as well, and it was difficult to manage. Also, Galaxy Explorer has many tied parameters to match realism, like the Atmosphere color, it also changes the color of the oceans, because that is how they get their color. I also kept it low as so people would not complain as I am. Filters should probably not be able to wide create a range of outputs anyway, because they usually don't do a good job of it (and I'm not just talking about yours). Don't take me in exaggeration though, my statement does not imply that it should strictly stick to precisely one thing, all I'm saying is that there's a limit. Along with the number of controls. I would love to have a link to this art show, if you don't mind.

1. replying defensively..."I'm sorry, isn't this an extremely unintuitive, complicated, unrealistic, poorly structured and uncreatively renamed mutation of Galaxy Explorer?" (you think this is constructive?)
Justify it how you will...but that sir is insulting and there is no way around it. Also I have seen no negative post on Nebula Explorer hmmmmmm Galaxy Explorer--Nebula Explorer boy they sound more similar yet no implied theft there?
You do own the rights to astronomy terminologies...my bad all be warned any astronomy term can no longer be used...kma---
Galaxy by Sjeiti, Textured Galaxy by Lady Fayre, Nebulae FX by pixel8ted, Milky Way by Moss and Planetarium by Redcap....hmmmmm (Cosmic Journey -- Galaxy Explorer...you don't know the difference?)
2. realism...is that what I was going for?
3. complain...oh i am sorry but I could see 100000 ways to "complain" with out insults, can you?
4. a limit...There is
5. Can you blame me...yes
6. This is a program that you should have fun with...be creative...go nuts...you do not seem to "get" that part. If folks do not like it....they will not use it, thats the "cool" thing about filter forge...hell thats what makes it great!
I guess the best way to solve this type of issue...if you don't like a filter...and can not be constructive......well do I really have to say it?
http://3wishessoap.weebly.com/ramsey-artwork.html -link to artwork
http://bfaincubator.tripod.com/ -link to gallery that hosted the event as well as 4 other art shops near downtown beloit...you can look them up
Don't know why you want the links....you gave your expert opinion already
You know maybe next time i will just let negative people say what they want to say(because they will anyway) and just ignore them.

Well, I meant replying to your first reply, because I realized that I had nothing to defend, and that making a better forger out of you would be better than not. And I do hope you realize by now that I no longer think this is a ripoff of GE.

And you're totally missing my points. My rhetorical question: "Can you blame me?" was directed at the name misunderstanding. Planetarium does not sound close to Galaxy Explorer, Milky Way was made after GE (and does not sound similar to GE), and in the first place, and so was Nebula Explorer. And look, Nebula Explorer did get harassed as this is: Nebula Explorer Comments. I was talking about the meaning of the name: Exploring Galaxies -- Journeying trough Cosmic Entities. It doesn't even matter anyway. But you know what also makes Filter Forge great? The fact that people can have their own type of fun with it. And that Astrological Terms rights? Of course not. I know you know I don't really have them; so to answer the question that started that exaggeration: Cosmic Journey and Galaxy Explorer have similarly themed names and similar goals, so instead of trying to find out what I meant, or letting me know that you were trying to be more artistic with this one, you returned immediately defensive, which I don't blame you for, my first post was pretty offensive. I also like how you didn't care for the education majority of my second post, all you did was worry about the negative stuff. Also, the links you send to the art show work... just not to the submissions and whatnot. But I do like your painted art.

Anyway, let's say I never posted my first post, and I started over with this: "I think if you cut down the number of controls on this filter to... about 1/3, renamed them, made them intuitive, and let people know this was supposed to be more of an artistic filter, people would be more accepting, it would probably be easier for yourself to use, and it might get HU!"

How would you respond to that one instead?

I would say thank you...this as well as other filters I have done are now my form of art...I am unable to do so physically so this is my canvas...I understand what you mean...however HU's is not my goal on this ...but thanks for the input.
and would have tried to joke about something...
have a great day smile;)
That is how I would have responded.

(when you start off that negative do not expect positive. might make a better poster out of you)
Nebula Explorer did not get harassed by You.
Similarly themed names and similar goaled filters make up 80%(at least) of all the filters out here!
And My point is Cosmic Journey and Galaxy Explorer do have similarly themed names along with any astronomy themed filter(about 500 of them) and to similar goals...not even close.
That was my point.
