Just wondering if you used http://www.filterforge.com/filters/6023.html as a source of inspiration because besides a blur, multiblend, and switch component these two filters are very similar... Just wondering smile:)

Redcap,

The "Digital Camouflage" filter that you linked to was not a source of inspiration in any way. Also, I would disagree that there is any similarity in these two filters outside of both being inspired by camo and they both incorporate a fabric grain.

When I set out to make my filter I intended to create a filter that would approximate traditional and digital camo utilized by the military by focusing on the organic shapes and layers of the camo. In staying true to this approach, my filter is very VERY slow but returns what I feel is a close approximation to the US Military version of digital camo and an even closer approximation of traditional camo. One striking difference between these two filters is that my filter actually generates a traditional organic camo pattern then pixilates it for the digital camo result.

The "Digital Camouflage" filter on the other hand generates its digital camo patters with a series of layered noise components that allows the filter to generate results very quickly and result in a much freer & looser interpretation of digital camo that ultimately is much more granular then mine. As far as I can see, It does not have the ability to generate a traditional non-digital camo pattern. As a result I feel each of these two filters are really polar opposites in both approach, component make up and results.

Just wondering, I have had some filters bastardized in the past. Looking more closely at your filter I can see that it is indeed original and just a coincident that we use similar approaches to get similiar effects. Good filter man.

It is more organic feeling and blends traditional camo with modern camo well.
