The artwork is nice -- have you considered extending it to 'widescreen' format and submitting it to the gallery?

Ye I think you get what im saying, the rust isnt specific, meaning that you have effectivley accomplished a deteriation filter for anything, not specifically metal objects.

well there has been a hitch, the filter was rejected for being too grungy ........ actual the render time, it was slowish [ 2 min 24 sec on a quad core ] ....... tried speeding it up, but the look died .......... so it's diverged to something new ....... I'll resubmit when it's ready, and Thrash does seem to describe the filter smile;) smile:)

Hey there Ron & Craig smile:D

Too grungy? Huh? There are a few 1000 filters on here have little or no use to me and this is one I could use on a daily basis! Say it isn't so!

As far as speed, I have no issue with a 2010 i7 chip overclocked to infinity darn near running on 1600mhz DDR3 memory through a twin SLI of two 1Gb GTX275 nVidia GPUs. This box doesn't even SWEAT on Filter Forge. I render full size snowboard graphics at 300dpi (up to 54" long), so this filter won't even raise an eyebrow. smile;)

Can I get the filter from you directly and save it as one of "My Filters"? Is that possible?

New version is still grungy just different ......... [ there is still a range of looks ]

Maybe we need a black market distribution network for filters that dont make it to the mainstream? If cool filters get knocked thats not good.

I agree, at the moment there is little reward for submitting to the library for long term authors and they would be more reluctent to give them away in a thread. You may have noticed the lack of textures being submitted of FF2 which is a great shame as sales of FF2 would surely increase with a more impressive FF2 selection with wow value. I like the idea of supporting FF by submitting filters as the program has given me great enjoyment and allowed me to create my own art as I want it to look, which no other program has allowed me.
I have thought of starting a thread where I sell filter that are time rejected by FF, don't know how they would feel about it, one would hope they would see it as more incentive for people to buy the program smile:)

You sell it I buy it, simple as that your filters are superior I have always said I would buy but you guys were never given a chance you could do your own website nothing stopping you.

If a filter is slow all that needs to be done is put a rating on it. Maybe something like a green, yellow, red rating system with red being excessive render time. There's a filter called "Peeling Paint" which takes longer to render than "Thrash" does, at least on my machine. I love that filter too but I'm glad someone didn't axe it just because it took a long time. I say let the user decide whats too much. The result is what I'm looking for, damned be the time to get it.

It not a bad idea to speed mark them, I think one of the things that FF doesn't like is there submit que being clogged by slow filters ........... out of curosity Thrash how long does the default preset take to render on your machine smile:)

I really don't know much about websites [ I'm the opposite of a nerd ] and don't have the time or inclination to learn Dreamweaver or such. I do need my own site done, unrelated to FF stuff, I had considered offering FF with lifetime upgrades [8 hu's ] to build a site for me. smile:)
