LOL it has to be the handiest multi purpose components of them all [followed by threshold ]

Yeah, you opened my eyes for the threshold component when you helped me with my campfire. I've used that a lot ever since.
I also use the Switch a lot, and I'm working on a script-based "random switch" that can take up to 16 inputs, and you can set how it should randomize based on the global variation. I've really needed that many times... - I never expected the Spanish inquisition |

I like the direction you went with this one Carl. A little unusual for you. When I saw it I thought it was a Totte filter - has a Totte look about it. Nice job.

Ron it is finished but slow and will never get past the Ff time police ....... might break it up into bit or 2 parts, though thinking about it that wouldn't really work

From what I saw there is more than one good filter in there. I'm sure something will come of it. Are you embracing lua? What is your approach to learning it?
@ronviers |
|||||
Posted: July 5, 2010 2:20 am | ||||||
Carl
![]() |
no, I'm a visual person and don't know how you can translate or work out something you can't see and wouldn't know where to start ........ I guess my filter will suffer and never be EP's and my contribution to shared knowledge will become redundant ........ I know wrong answer but truthful, coding just isn't for my brain how are you going with it? |

If I can't see it, I can't work it out. Even when I can imagine it clearly, I can only work it out with code in tiny steps. Anyway, I can get by in mel and I am learning to get by in python, but coding is not fun for me, and my enthusiasm for learning another language has waned. Things change, I will do what I need to do. But right now, I do not see lua happening. @ronviers |

It looks like it is losing depth, saturation and color distribution. I wonder why that is? It still looks great.

oh LOL I wasn't expecting that, I thought with your skill base it would be easy for you. The best thing for me with FF was that it wasn't coding like filter Meister or such, I wonder if the the general user will learn lua

I don't know. The general ff user remains a mystery to me. The split between the technical and non-technical contributors will probably continue. There will probably be some that put their toes in the lua water, but if it's as difficult for them as it is for me, then many will be happy without it. @ronviers |

I find it bizarre that 586 fans of FF on face Book but they don't bother coming here in anyway to make any comments [ the exception being Thrash and a few others ]so you get very little feed back |

Probably a good thing. If they realized what suckers most of the contributors are, they would all be here making filter and feature requests. We could never get anything done. ![]() @ronviers |

Carl wrote:
any new filters lately[/quote] Nothing new, but I did an update to my wood texture that I am almost satisfied with. The problem is that the update does not require v2 features. I am not sure how to submit it. If I update my existing wood it will remove access to v1 users. If I add it as a second wood filter then I will have two very similar wood filters. Another thing, I gave away all my hu's and now I realize I need some more. So I actually need some successes but I do not want to jerk over ff. @ronviers |
