Being a skiier I know what real snow looks like, and that looks just like it. Great job
![]() And a suggestion, could you make areas of the picture that stand out gather piles of snow on them? Because that would be really cool. |

Thanks! Yeah being in recently completely snowed under Netherlands I know too
![]() I saw the filters in the library and thought FF should be able to do better. (no offence to those authors) I'm busy with the snow piles, based on the "Height" snippet by Mike Blackney, getting reasonable results, but it is way too slow. Attached here is my current working version. I think I will have to try some different techniques for getting the snow buildup. FF definitly has the power to do it.. it's a matter of finding how.. Ok so after 5 minutes of working on it I found a way less intensive way to do it
![]() It needs some tweaking to get a realistic snow deposit texture, right now it's too smooth and rough edged at the same time. I wish there was an Anti-Alias component, so that you could force some in between light Anti-Aliasing on certain parts only! Also I need to find a way to make it work on less perfect foto's than the Lifesaver. If I stick a normal picture in now, the snow buildup is perfect in some places.. wrong on other places. I think I can't get this perfect for all pictures, so a way to tweak this to suit a certain picture would be best I think. Here's my current working version: Snow.ffxml |

I'll have a bit of a play with the snow deposits and tell you if i can get it perfect.

Great, I will look at it too when I have more time.
The most important part is to determine where the deposit should occur. I think you can use shadows to find places where snow should build up. But then you need to offset .. and then you have a problem due to perspective (which the Lifesaver doesn't have that much). So finding shadows and then finding a way to shift upwards is the challenge I think. |

OK ive had a bit of luck with the snow heaps.
I also added a motion blur effect to the snow flakes. I have attached my modified version. SnowEdited.ffxml |
