Cat logo with multiple letters of Adobe Photoshop CS6 Startup window

I have seen the new startup window of Adobe Photoshop CS6 Beta and like much the effect of all the letters (or words) that make the shape of the black cat.

I wonder how they have done this. I do not think that they have done this by hand, and I think they have used some way to fill the lines of the cat with this letters. Perhaps is done in Photoshop with paths and vectors.

I want to ask if this could be possible in Filter Forge

As far as I know if this is not done with vectors or paths (both unavailable in FF) must be done with a mask
