Can't script

Hi everybody!
I'm trying to have a blend component in which the user can sel ect the blend mode.
Obviously using an IntSlider input with a 19 max value will allow the user to use any of the blend modes avaikable... BUT what if I only want the user to be able to select a value corresponding specific blend modes?
In this example I want the user to be able to chose fr om these blend modes ONLY: 1-5,12,14,19.
I tried using Remapping, but FF wont allow it.
I tried using a Switch component, but I can't map it to the Mode input of the blend component.
How can I do it then? Is there a way to do it without using scripts?
If a script must be used, can any of you code gurus please post it here?
Thanks for the help!

use several blends (one for each mode), and hook them up to the switch

Wouldn't that make the filter very slow? As I understand FF wil actually calculate each and every blend, regardless of the one that is actually being used.
If I could have the switch (or script) output just an integer value to the Blend Mode node that would make the filter much more efficient.

Only the indexed source will be used smile:-) A script will most likely be slower

Well that's good to know! smile:D
I thought that the more nodes you have the slower the filter would be. I'm glad to hear otherwise.
Thanks!

Now we are in the same boat smile:D

I have begun to learn how to use the filter editor and also have the same question as you had in the first post, and I have put this other thread here and did not remember that this thread in which I have already posted was available too.

How would you hook the blend modes to the switch component? I mean do you put the blend mode component and then select the blend mode you want and then link it to the switch ?

Thanks very much

Sphinx, could you be so kind to tell how would be the best way to make what you have suggested so it does not have a great impact in speed and is optimized ?

ALso I think would be very good and useful if FF Inc. could update the blend mode component in some way that you can show names of the blend modes OR at least it could show two letters instead of the number, I mean for example OV for Overlay
