I have a volley of new versions of some of my Filters, but I was wondering if I should put a version or indicator of what incarnation of the filter in the name. In my case, being a pretty big RPG fan, I like to use levels so... for example, Sakurama would be upgraded to Sakurama Lv2.

I was wondering if it's common practice to do this or if there are any side effects, like the comments threads or usage scores getting reset, or even if I just should keep the original name without without adding the Lv# just for practical reasons ^_^ As always, any advice is much appreciated ^_-

i prefer seeing new names/numbers added. sometimes the presets of an update get lost when you overwrite, or, you simply prefer the earlier version and dont want it over-written by a new one of the same name.

I like versioning too, helps me keep track of things. As we all know, without dates and times, people would go crazy and the world would be in flames.

There are quirky, but nonetheless valid reasons for preferring older versions. Sometimes a "flaw" in an older version had a particular charm not found in the newest revision. (I'm not just thinking of visual filters here, but from my experience, synthesizer sounds too.)

I dunno, I've gone both ways with "updates". I don't think there's a right or wrong, just like if the update changes the old look/presets a lot is kind of the bottom line to me.

Thank you everyone for your advice! I decided to use version names after all! From here on, my filters will Level Up whenever they get enough experience! Ahahaha -- as you may have guessed, I'm going through some serious RPG withdrawal symptoms right now ~^_^~

Hope you feel better real soon smile:) I started to put like a "V2" first thing in the description before re-submitting the filter. Every time I learn something new, I go back and update all of my applicable filters. I'm sure that the filter submission person is quite sick of me by now smile:)
