I need a texture (seamless) for a safari themed creation. I cannot find an authentic Ivory Tusk Texture without paying the texture web shops...ie istockphoto, dreamstime etc etc smile:|

It would be awesome to include different texture hues light and dark. smile:love:

My budget smile:?:

If you are referring to me purchasing textures from said texture web shops - yes, I have multiple times.

I do not own a budget for filters here. However I do have 4.0. I suppose I could create a "tusk" texture with Photoshop and take the time to teach myself filter creating here?

I was not aware this was a "buy the filters from" forum?

Alright I was just asking. Sorry if I sounded a bit unfriendly. And no FF forums don't usually have people asking about budget. I was just wondering because you said you "need" a texture which sometimes (and often) indicates commercial work. But that's my art business life creeping in. So my apologies for leaving you with an uncomfortable reply.

Let me just make you something. smile:)

It's kinda at its infancy but I think its a good starting point.

Thanks so much Skybase. NP on the asking for a budget. Very good starting point indeed. Your start image looks like a pure ivory. :o) The closeups of elephant tusks I have seen on the texture web shops have an almost vein-like weaving texture atop the ivory color. Rough, almost grungy spots are seen on the tusks of the elephants that have not had their ivory taken. Yet still, I have observed that at the start and end of the some tusks there is a darker growth.

Thanks for giving it a whirl. I see you have created many filters for the FF site. I know I have even used a few. Hats off to your creativity. :o)

Just a suggestion - if you are looking for help with some texture, it would help if you posted an example or a link to an image that shows what you are looking for. My first thought when I saw your post was "what the heck does an elephant tusk look like?"

I am creating furnitures for a "Safari" themed decor. The texture will cover elephant tusks for 3d furniture within a virtual community.
