remnids me of this one: (and forgive me if this was somebody else's that i put my name on. it was done a long while back and i'm not so sure i was the original author).

using each single pattern as a multi-colored pixel to compose an image.....and manipulating the color and tone of each one to deceive the human eye in some way....
