Here's a simple implementation. You can blur the edge instead of using a curve to get a more even-weight edge.

Thanks ThreeDee.
I tried to insert a Selection component so that I could use my selection as the main shape. I could not find a way to add that to your configuration. So I tried swapping the Selection component with Free Eclipse and that did not workout. Even If I get the selection shape to show up it loses the no edge touch effect. Any ideas on how to have my selection be the main shape but still have the blended edge. I'm having a lot of fun playing with the settings of the individual components. And thanks for your help. That blended edge is way cool ![]() |

Thanks ThreeDee. Works great
![]() I think I understand this better now. I can see where some other textures I generate in FF can be swapped for the Perlin Noise and also look nicer not being cutoff by selection Edge. This will be fun to experiment with ![]() |

So I modded a Skybase maze filter. Then attached it to foreground in the blend component of no egdy touch filter. Added a blur component between blend and threshold to round off sharp edges. So now I can happily blend many patterns into a selection edge. Not just Perlin.

Silly me
It's the blur and threshhold that's expanding the image beyond original selection borders. I don't know how to restrict the blur to inside the selection, but at least I know what's making it bigger than the selection now. |

Low enough a Threshold should do it, or Tone Curve, which gives you more control on the rounded edges of the inner elements.

Thanks ThreeDeee.
I'll try adjusting those. I'm trying to get outer edge to exactly follow the selection and keep the blurring and threshold effects restricted to inside the selection, so that the final result will not exceed the original selection boundaries in photoshop document. |

Now the result fits into selection perfectly.
Just needed to add Scale component set to 1 and got lucky as where to hook it into. No-Edgy-Touchy Selection fits good.ffxml |

It's always bothered me that most photoshop filters abruptly cut off a pattern at selections edge with no option of a smooth transition into a border or frame.
Now I have a choice. Probably not all that useful for most. But for my Art Style this will definitely come in handy. |

Have just found this thread while searching for border selection, and think is a great idea what is shown here, and very good that you can fill a shape without touching the edges, like it
Thanks to both of you |
