Hi,

This filter is called ‘Change Display’. Here is the description:

This filter allows an image to appear as if it were being displayed on different devices. Presets include; security camera, night vision scope or visor, small curved screen TV, large curved screen TV, flat screen LCD, an orange monochrome monitor with moiré, a very cheap black and white TV and finally a high quality mono with just a little moiré.
This filter allows the user to vary the shape of the RGB phosphor as well as the pitch, add and vary moiré, add noise, vary screen curvature, change to three types of monochrome monitors and add or remove visible phosphor dots.

I could have easily done a lot more with this filter but it started getting slow so I decided to stop. I especially wanted to add more phosphor dot configurations but maybe I will do something like that later. I didn’t learn as much making this one as I did on the previous two but I could already go back and make the first two shorter. I am sure there must be a better way to lay out the phosphor grids.
Any suggestions on how it could be improved or any comments are very welcome.

Brgds,
Ron
smile:)

nice, ron.

this is a good example of why it would be nice to be able to label our presets.

Hi Ron,

I am a fan of all your filters. As usual I'm adding an image with the filter applied. The application is not one of your presests however one I added for personal use.

To answer your question I do beleive it could be done but would change the filter drastically. So if you were to do that I would reccomend starting a new filter as not to upset the delicate balance of this one. The pitch, moire and curvature will change if you pull the last perlin noise and replace with cell noise as well as completely remove the first perlin noise. I just would not reccomend doing this on the current filter. ((Because the filter is ~sweet~ just as it is)).

Your filter is applied on top of my luxurious silk filter and will work very well for digital scrapbooking. ~Thanks again Ron for a great filter~.

Hi,
I submitted this filter Saturday morning, now Tuesday morning, and it has not posted. Is this normal? Should I contact FF? Should I resubmit? Should I just wait? There is no way I can earn a copy if the filters cannot be downloaded.

Thanks,
Ron

Usually the filters are posted on Monday-Fri..Saturday and Sundays were the break times for the FF staff.. smile:) At least thats how it was.
But as last week I think filters were posted on a Saturday and Tues and Mon there were none that were posted..So don't know why but maybe a new thing..Or just busy and had to switch the posting days...

Sorry I'm so long getting this example posted.

If you take your change filter and apply to a white background 500 x 500 - set it to tile- you can load that image in your paint program as a "fill". So your change filter is great as an image. If you look at the attached image- the satin on the background is your change filter by itself. To use it for the image background I did not have to generate a new one in FF- just used the stored one for my fills. ((I have several colors and styles with your change filter ready for fills).

I have to put copyright on my bows- because I made them with shapes from scratch and scrappy addicts would lift them. *g*. ((Not for lifting)). LOL.

The change filter was not so strong that it erased the shading on the bows that give them their curve. So the fitler is perfect!~

The other final filter I put on them is my 'Emergency' filter- which is cute and fun on the bow ties.

I love the satin look for these. And the filter also makes matching backgrounds.

Satin Bow Tie image attached.

Beautiful Persidio – you really know how to motivate someone.
I wish I would have added a color slider - I thought about it but ruled it out for the sake of simplicity. Do you think I should add it and do an update?

Thanks,
Ron

Hi Ron,

Good choice on not adding a color bar. Most graphics artists and scrappy artists have been making graphics awhile and they already have a "free" filter by Flaming Pear called "Kyoto Color". ((There are some good free filters out there)). Then there are the expsensive must have's like... FF. LOL

I'll attach an image with your filter placed on bows- then Kyoto Color placed on top.

Now I went to Flaming Pears site and they don't even have a preview for this freebie (but it is a GREAT little filter).

Quote from the above web site on Kyoto Color:

Quote
Kyoto Color: changes colour using a Hue/Luminance/Saturation colour space, but it's not the same HLS colour space built into Photoshop. The Kyoto space produces more lifelike results for massive hue changes.

Handy Dandy little thing to have. smile:D

The other bow I've made in there- also an original creation of mine; made with Sinedots - Dragonfly as a base for each bow ruffle. Your change filter is one of the VERY few filters I can put on them because they are delicate.

Sinedot is another one of the great free filters on the web.

Big fan of your change filter. Love it as is; and also you want to move onto other filters so that you can get your filter art on FF Gallery's before time expires. This one is perfect!~

P.S. Nothing like seeing the filters in action smile:)
