I have just found and discovered this great and well done crosshatch line art effect of an action made for Photoshop and I have thought that most probably it would be possible to make this kind of effect in Filter Forge and be able to have more variants and more controls than in Photoshop action
Artistic Line art crosshatch effect I have tried to search for hatch, crosshatch, and line art in the filters library, but there is not nothing similar or any filter that could be modified to be like this I think it could be a great and cool effect I think that the crosshatch does not follow the contour or edges of the source image Maybe one possible idea is that It could be also added different optional colors to the lines of crosshatch Thanks for any idea on how this could be done ![]() |

I am testing to see if I could use the bomber or it will be need to use another way as I do not want that the cross hatch follows the contour as it happens in this filter CrossHatch from Skybase
I will also try to use the diagonal lines that Ramlyn have used in his Roth filter |

There is a way, I think. Do you see that the pattern seems to be someway repetitive?
Then, here is my idea. Making squares (or triangles, or hexagons) filled with crosshatch. Then put them in a Bomber. The crosshatch must be done by you, using striped polygons. It cannot be randomly generated. The borders of the squares must match each others. This way, when the bomber put them near, you see the stripes continuing from one square to the other. The squares must be enough big to make hard to understand that the pattern is repetitive. Otherwise the picture becomes a bit boring. As option, it can be added to have mirrored sides on left & right or/and up & down. In your picture I think they used it. It looks like composed of 4 squares filled with the same pattern and repeated up-left, up-right, down-right and down left. Then they added this same pattern with some transparency and some bevel width to make the darker areas. |

Just manually filling the square, then repeating it with a bomber.

Thanks really very much for your help and I appreciate it much, and you have been one of the inspirations to think that this filter could be possible in some way
Very Good to know that there could be a way. Yes, I have seen that the pattern seems to reapeat in some parts, but did not tell about it as I thought it would not be maybe important nor need to be repeated and follow the same design in the filter.
I know that the crosshatch lines must be drawn by me inside FF and this is why I |

WOW!! This is really excellent and great, well done, this is what I was my idea. I show later below you what I have done myself that is far from this

I know that the crosshatch lines must be drawn by me inside FF and this is why I Thought I could use the parallel lines already created with Lines from your Roth filter The problem is that on bomber I do not know how to control how the distribution is done because what I got is this shown here ![]() |

I don't think it is possible to do it only using a bomber. The way the particles should overlap to create the first picture you posted cannot be obtained letting the bomber handle them.
The example that I posted is not a too complex filter. Making it just takes a bit of time for putting every single piece in the right position. ![]() I will try to do it. |

The image given as example is only a idea, and I do not want to replicate and copy it exactly Thanks really very much for trying |

Thanks very much Rachel for trying it and so kind but I already have something like you have done from a modified version of the Skybase Crosshatch and above I put this
I mean that the same as your example, the crosshatch I have done follows the shapes of the source image and are rotated and positioned according to the source image and they should really not be affected by the source image at all, should be always the same with any kimd of image The example given by Ramlyn is the closest one to what It should be I have only used the original bomber and maybe it should be done using the new bomber plus that has more options and features with randomization I have now got more ideas for this filter apart from the first example shown and here are some ![]() |

Want to to see how you have been able to build this and how it works to learn more Thanks very much for taking the time and work to make this possible and make it in such great way, it is much appreciated |
