Here is the mini tutorial of latest iteration of my DCipher program, this time ported to Filter Forge and open source:

I couldn't get this filter up into the library here due to a modem (?) issue at the moment, but the ffxml and png I have zipped on my site:

DCipher5

I received some, perhaps warranted, flack from ecrypt.eu.org about the original published DCipher4, but intuitively I'm still compelled by keyless exchange, and now with an external non-algorithmic image key, I'm even more convinced this simple additive modulo method is sound. Not being anywhere near an expert in the field, nor wanting to be one, it is only my instinct that compels me to create this program for personal privacy, and in my case business security. Enjoy! smile:)

A new video tutorial that may be helpful to show how this program works:

Any feedback or recommendations regarding clarity or purposefulness welcome on this.
Should I submit it to the library? smile:|

Question: can you hide watermarks in imagery using this method?

To quote http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_watermarking:

"Both steganography and digital watermarking employ steganographic techniques to embed data covertly in noisy signals. But whereas steganography aims for imperceptibility to human senses, digital watermarking tries to control the robustness as top priority."

So yes, the robustness is fragile in this case, but can be modified of course. smile:)

Keyless Steganographic Encryption: The Analogy (see attached graphic)

A fish tank, shark tank, whatever, I have no recollection.
In the tank are two colorblind aquatic organisms that can manifest sediment.

The zookeeper can only view the tank from above, and can only measure the water height, but he knows the language of sediments. If he puts on his glasses he can measure the sediment height, but he is colorblind also and it all looks like the same gray color.

Alice is orange on the left, Bob is yellow on the right

Alice needs to tell Bob she hates the food the zookeeper is giving to them lately without offending the zookeeper. So…

To Alice's complaint (the 'Message Image') she mentally adds the mutually understood 'Stegano Base Image' and her 'Noise Image' and manifests it as the gray, red, and orange layers. Bob (who is as colorblind as Alice) can't distinguish between red and orange, thus the message reads nonsensically "apples are oranges". So remembering a trick she showed him before, he manifests a yellow layer of sediment (his 'Noise Image') which to the two of them and the zookeeper looks just like the red and orange layers, gray. All the while the zookeeper is fascinated by all the goings on. Now Alice, knowing what she added to her message can take away that part (what we see as orange) and the gray, yellow, and red layers remain. Bob can then read the message by mentally subtracting what he added (the yellow), and the mutually understood gray. The zookeeper will never be able to differentiate between the gray and the red, and will forever be amazed that 'his' creatures know and believe that apples are lemons (which in and of itself might be a great enough offense to make them the zookeeper's food).

Just noticed this seems to work fine with 16 bit PNGs too. smile:)

...and here is the link to the ecrypt.eu.org eSTREAM forum post once upon a time. Hope it helped build the blockchain. smile;)
