Maybe the name of the filter Line draw benchmark by Velho is not clear enough to show the great, useful and interesting content and it hides 10 different methods for drawing a line in FF from point A to point B

I am putting this here for anyone that would like to use Lines in their filter that needs to be specifically positioned at some place or measured.

So download the

For me in my case, this is related to a project I have started to make, Inspired by these examples here and also from Ramlyn Rollstar and Ghislaine SpiroWires see more below

The first number at the left is the "Line Drawing Method" in Settings tab or inside filter editor

BENCHMARK LIST ACCORDING TO THE FASTEST OPTION

5: 1min 3s polygon, line ends masked
1: 1min 6s rectangle, line ends masked
3: 1min 19s rectangle, no masking, continuous
2: 1min 21s rectangle, line ends masked & rounded ends
7: 1min 33s gradient (line width varies, not worth fixing)
6: 1min 38s gradient, rotated, line ends masked
4: 2min 21s rectangle, no masking, scaled to length
10: 3min 46s RGB math components
9: 5min 22s script by Velho
8: 5min 30s script by ThreeDee

As said I am trying to make a spirograph with lines and also Geometric String art and I am now testing to use these lines as source to use with Loops taken the inspiration and source from this filter from Melissa Wiederrecht made very well that I like much and I have shown 19 examples in the comments

And related to thin lines, there is also the Pixel Grid filters available in the FF Library that can be used and rotated and modified

I do it with the free rectangle component, with a width mask to improve speed for thinner lines. This 9-pointed poly-star has 36 lines and renders in about 32 seconds (without all the post-processing, and on my crappy laptop).

I might submit it to the library.

And I am trying to make a new version using loops with multiple options to modify the lines in different ways
