Here's the first 76 creative commons HDRI files I converted to Filter Forge Environments Place the filter forge environments in the Filter Forge Environment directory C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Filter Forge 11\My Environments This post will be updated whenever I upload new environments to the mediafire folder I linked. The old number of files, number of new files added, increased library size, and total library size stats will be listed here whenever I upload new environments.

If you have a large personal collection of HDRI files you want converted to filter forge environments and don't have the time, please use an online service to convert to your files to .EXR and post a download link for me. How to quickly convert files to EXR. Google "Convert JPEG To EXR Online" and Google will list a ton of free sites that do it. Most have a limit of 10-20 per day, but you can get around that by using multiple sites. Please keep the .EXR under 2.25MB, ideally 1.8MB because the conversation time is exponentially longer the larger the file.

Mediafire Environments Folder

All new uploads will use a new naming format like Indoor Studio 07-C.ffenv as an example, the -C will be how I mark all future environment file as a creative commons starting today. I should have done so when I first started, it looks so much better, sorry for the current janky names. I've renamed the remaining ~200 EXR files and 2,500 HDRI files, and once I finish converting the remaining ~200 EXRs all I will fix the old 317 which will take around 13 days. Sadly the current batch is the CC_ format, but once I fix everything I will use multiple folder names based on the batch conversion date.

I'm nearly finished with full automation, I estimate the conversion start date of HDRI to EXR to FFENV to take place in late February, and releases by early March. Self converted files will 1000x500, the Filter Forge recommended size, also every EXR will be the same size IIRC roughly 1.96mb, and that will allow for faster conversions. The estimation is a bit far off because I plan on checking every HDRI for quality, and any that are junk quality will be deleted.

I don't know if Mediafire has download limits, but in the case it does please let me know so I can add extra hosts. I plan on upgrading my Microsoft and Google storage both to premium since I view them as better file hosts. Right now I simply don't have the space to store on either, but when I get paid next month I will host files on all three sites to make sure access is working for everyone.

Once the HDRI files are converted, you can expect much clearer environments, not saying the current library is bad, a high percent of the current conversions are just fine, but with all the future files being the same size I expect the quality to be the same for nearly every file. However, I plan on taking some time off during the day, I haven't had a chance to play with my favorite program since I started converting on December 25th.

Lastly, a giant thanks to the Filter Forge mods working with me to move my post here and rename it for me. I'm already seeing more usage of environments because of it, so thanks again.

Sorry, I haven't posted anything in a while, so I'm posting this explanation instead. On 3/14/2022 I found my 32-year-old brother dead, 178 days after losing my 53-year-old mother to early-stage four cancer complications. Nobody knew about cancer until months later.

What I know about my brother's death so far:
He died from a heart attack.
Energy drinks likely caused it.
He was on suboxone; the extreme overuse of energy drinks caused a speedball effect.
My brother drank 8 cans of Monster every day (minimum) since our mom passed.

I'm in the same type of treatment as my brother, so I tried doing it, and it works after slamming 8 cans of Monster. I thought I was going to die.

But yeah, it's going to be a good while before I start posting again. Losing two close family members five months and twenty-eight days apart is too much for me. I don't know how long it will take to get my mind back to normal. I will return eventually, but it's goodbye for now.
