Hello, I have created a small, long, flat, free rectangle which then moves out of the image with the offset component via the X axis on the right and as soon as it overlaps the right edge of the image, it moves back into the image via the left edge.
The effect worked and then I must have changed something. Now the rectangle disappears from the right edge of the picture without reappearing on the left. Unfortunately, after many tests, I was unable to reproduce the effect. Seamless tiling is activated manually in the filter editor. Does anyone know how to solve this? My filter setup was simple: spectrum gradient (as color for the rectangle) > free rectangle > scale component > motion blur component > offset component I use Filter Forge 14. The attached image shows how it should work. ![]() |

The solution has nothing to do with the seamless option. When the gradient rectangle is created it only occurs in the main 0 to 1 unit square. When you offset the rectangle the adjacent areas are blank. So I copied the unit square to all adjacent squares with the lookup/gradient combo in the included filter. The offset then "sees" the copies in the other unit squares. In FF13.

First advice, backup often (Control/Command S, Filter Save As). When I create filters, I save new versions like Filter 01, Filter 02, .... Try to do this at least every major change in the filter. That way if I have a blow out and lose stuff in my filter by accident, I have a fallback.
You can reduce Size, Pixels in my filter to see the gradient copies in the adjacent unit squares. Math meets art meets psychedelia. |

Yes, a backup is a useful tool. I had already tried it with made a screenshot. However, the details of the components may not be visible. A filter copy is a better solution.
