2-position int-slider connundrum

Hello all,

I wasn't sure if this question should be posted here, or in the 'bugs and problems' forum, but I suspect someone has an answer which makes posting it here more appropriate.

I'm having a real problem with this peculiarity. I have a switch component, to switch between 2 different inputs, so it needs to have a control for the user to do this. However, the last time I tried to submit a filter with the 'int-slider' control for something like this, it was unable to be submitted due to the fact that the int-slider had only 2 positions, and it said to use a switchbox instead.

Well... in the case of the last filter, I simply wanted to switch a normal blend between zero and 100% opacity, so I simply changed the slider to give full control of the blend.

In this case, however, I really need to switch between 100% of choice 1, or 100% of choice 2. A checkbox will not work to control a switch component in this way, so it isn't an option.

I also thought of using a blend component in normal mode, but to limit the opacity to only zero or 100% would present the same quandry as in the first example I mentioned.

Does anyone know if there is another way to do this, or is this simply a limitation of the software?

A slider with just two positions certainly falls in the category of 'most ugly GUI items imaginable'. Why do you think a checkbox isn't an appropriate replacement? There's just the matter of coming up with a good name for the control to reflect its 'boolean' nature...
