Something I just kind of (think I have at least) sorted out, that might be of use to some others when making filters. If you make a filter, and none of the modules have a Variation control (internally), then the Settings area will have a grayed out area for the Variation value box. You can choose to add a control internally for any module with Variations, but if there is only one (module with a variations control) in your filter, then no need, as it is automatically available to users in the Settings area. I did not see anything about this in the FF wiki, so I am posting what I have discerned about it here, anyone who knows more, should feel free to add to it, or whoever does the wiki, may move this there etc. Thanks.

"Variation is a global parameter – it is always present on the Settings tab in Filter Controls for any filter. However, if a filter was built without using randomizable components such as Perlin Noise or Bricks, the Variation slider is disabled."

Hmm, alright, that didn't turn up when I used the wiki search, and I tried "variation", and "variations". To further explain it, an example case/situation might be given where a user might want to have a 2nd Variation control in their filter. I have just seen a couple of filters that have a Variation control added, and it is not needed, which is what made me think of it at all yesterday.
