I'm trying to create a surface filter that create a realistic blood splat, but i'm failing to have any decent result.
Any suggestion? I want to achieve a result like these pics: http://www.fantasycostume.net/fantasy...plat-t.jpg http://recollectionbooks.com/bleed/images/BB/blut.gif http://www.paulcampion.com/illustrati...dSplat.JPG As a base i'm using a cells noise with contrast set to 100. But i don't know how to do the blood opacity, reflectivity and bump help a poor noob! ![]() --------------------------

Welcome to all the fun...I don't know if you have been through the filters or not..
But take a look at this one, it might give some ideas on how to go about making that Blood Splat! http://www.filterforge.com/filters/591.html LiquidDrops by Zoltan Erdokovy Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times! |

It might also have to do with the lighting and reflectivity of that filter.

Here's another one from which you could borrow some snippets. It doesn't have that spashed motion but it does do some fairly accurate surface tension and refraction (since blood is semi-transparent). It's a bit slow though.
