Starting Curve 
Effect I want 
My Pitiful attempt using the 'Fade' Curve Op There has to be a better solution that I'm just not realizing right now. 
P.S. For those who'd like to try their hand at this please realize the smoothing should only affect the left and right while leaving the middle a nice 45 degrees. (Basically how the fade command works) |

I think I got pretty darn close.
(The only thing that may need tweaking is what the maximum value on the maximum remapper should be) Smooth Curve.ffxml |

I had a play around with it. Either I need to put my glasses on or the one in the filter looks pretty much like the example you require. Looks really interesting though.
Seriously wondering what delight your planning with it.  Nothing wrong with a little insanity ;)
