I tried to upload one of my new filters, in which I used a switch function, but filterforge doesnt let me obviously cause one of the only has two options.
Does anybody know a good example filter where I can learn from? FF suggested I use a checkbox but I can't seem to make that work. Put the filter in. If someone has better noise suggestions, or any what so ever suggestion (I think the filter is a bit slow maybe) please comment! Koh If you canyvt make bricks.ffxml |

Checkbox/switch: What are you trying to switch between? In some cases you may need to remap the checkbox output. Probably be easiest to attach the filter so we can see what the problem is. Based on the thread title I am also unclear as to whether you are trying to do it with or without using a switch.

I just checked and it's downloadable to me, some late halloween spooky effects?
I tried to put it in a checkbox as when i tried to submit the filter, FF told me to change the 'switch' node to a checkbox. It was to switch between the surface options (which are only two options, rough and smooth...) Hope I am more clear now and thanks for responding ThreeDee |

Okay. It's a Halloween effect, or a Twilight-Zone effect. I downloaded and opened the filter but never saw the switchbox until now that I opened it again. Spooky!
Here's how it works -- you use the checkbox as a Selector: If you cantzt make bricks.ffxml |

Hope that loads correctly for you -- I forgot to change the name of the filter. FF might think you already have it installed. You can tell it's the new one if the Checkbox output goes to the Selector input in Switch.

Hehe, I was just saying to myself.. Damn that simple, I think what I did was just something that the beginning presets that confused me when i tried what you showed me here.
Yes I loaded it allready, but the change is clear! Thanks a lot ThreeDee! |

when you're only using two positions on the switch, you use a checkbox and re-map (usually). when you have more than two, you use an int slider. it didnt used to be that way, but got changed for some reason quite a few versions back. it makes little sense logically. you'd think an int would work fine in all conditions, but it got changed for some reason.
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Ah, could be I have been having my summers sleep here. But I get it now. I'm still not satisfied with the noises though and the beginning presets, if any of you have other suggestions to optimize the filter, I'm all ears.
