Hi,
Is there a way for me to have a control, say a slider, in my filter, and not have it seen in the settings? I'm trying to do something that seems to require a slider, and I don't want the user to change it, I want it to stay at a set value. I know this sounds a redundant, wht use a slider control if you don't want it to change, but it's the only way I manage to get a component in my filter to work right. Thanks! |

It depends on what you are doing with it...If a controller is plugged up it will be seen...However you can cheat a little by using color components instead of a slider......You can use a gradient, blend or rgb component with a pure white as 0 (I think, might be the other way around..;>)) then Black as bigger value then grey is inbetween...Its an older trick used buy Uberzev and still handy in situations...... Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times! |

OK, I guess I'll have to hunt down some of Uberzev's filters and see how the trick works.

If a parameter's value is supposed to stay constant, just set it on the component directly.
That's strange. Can you post an example of what you're trying to achieve? --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

Actually I figured it out, I was getting weird results because of a little component mixup somewhere along the line.
I was using an ADD component with source A being a picture, and wanted source B some kind of an HDR input. I used the slider's remapper with a maximum value which was an HDR value. I ended up using a BLEND (HDR) component instead, and got the same result. This is my first filter I'm working on, and since learning curve is steep, I'm bound to ask some stupid questions along the way. ![]() |
