For some reason, I totally understood that "self contained" tool idea of yours. hehe.
![]() Hey if anyone can help, I don't know how to make HDRI files to import... That would be nice... Roses are #FF0000

Excellent, Bel!!!
![]() BTW, scratch my suggestion to use the "FlareGen" filter.....ThreeDee's method (in his posted filter here) is much better, simpler, and faster..... My first mod fly-through on ThreeDee's filter.....next shooting for modding to a 3D perspective on a gallaxy ring.....maybe with something like a super-nova in the middle of it..... ![]() ![]() Steve

Here's the filter with the slight mod.....took out the big stars, re-adjusted proportionality of remaining stars, and toned down the flares......towards setting it up for the focus to be on the planned gallaxies, planets, etc.....

you'd need a remote server. and yes, i'd like to be able to do that also. but, you cant, at least, not that way. if you use the 'attach a file', it's always going to work like you're currently used to.
there is a chance, that if this forum is using the right type of code, that you might be able to do it, but i kind of doubt it. do you have any examples of it being done on this forum? If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

i like your nebula up there, steve and the planet looks pretty good, too. but, what did you mean by 'ThreeDee is gone'?
i'm still playing with the nebula also. this isnt very sharp yet, but there are a couple of concepts in there that help the cause. ![]() If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

thanks, steve. it's sort of that concept i've been working on where i said i'd be gone for a week. the idea had to do with when 3D said something about making the stars shine and affect other objects in the image. so, the blue and yellow splotches are something of an attempt along those lines. they are essentially 'suns' that have been colored and then diffused to create gas clouds/clusters, but also give off their own light to the background. i'm gonna work on this some more and then maybe i'll post something in this thread on it. but, basically, you can move those splotches around, alter the size and shape and color of the 'clouds' and make as many as you want in different colors and place them where you want them. so your nebula can have as many colors in as much variety as you want.
i also refined the white intermediate sized stars to be less solid and have a bit more of a radiant beam to them. still not exact yet, but i think the secret is in curves. still refining that. sorry, you still lost me with 'ThreeDee is gone'. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

I think the Sky is too blue, It should be H: 230 S: 33 L: 7 or something like that, it just looks too colorful and stuff. Same with the gas clouds. But otherwise it looks good.

It's not really done at all, but either way its close to its competition.
Several perlin noise patterns + noise distortion (which adds the extra "drip effect")were combined to gain details. Then these layers were made into two separate layers. One for color, one for shadow (that covers up the color layer.) The shadow layer has been offset to simulate the "back lighting" although it didn't work very well. But once again, its incomplete. Once I kinda have something going, I'll upload it. ![]() |
