Hello guys, very glad to back here. smile:)

Here is my idea.

I'm making Tower Defense game, and I'm already tired of remaking tile-sets.

So I've created this Tile-set-Maker.

1 Alpha mask

3 RGB Source ( tiled by 1 RGB and Alpha in proccess)

after auto-slice in photoshop, and choose needed tiles.

It's very fast even with 3k-4k finish render

grid for visualization.

Later would be river/road tile-set-maker.

still have some ideas for flexability.

here is filter + couple of demos.

512x512 source, 3072x3072 finish image, 48 sec render.

Interesting. I don't play video games let alone make them but I'm sure this is yet another great FF innovation. smile:) But what really interests me is that by using an image host you can upload such large files to the FF Forums. I had no idea. smile:|

Well the large images just messes with the thread and slows down the scrolling time and is a bad ideal to post them this way due to that...

And here is, as promised, Tileset-Road-Maker

Source:

Vertical + Horizontal mask (RGBA, Alpha would be ectracted)

1-3 RGB tiled source,

1 RGB Tiled Background.

Result:

4 T-Cross, 4 Turns, 4 Deadends, 1x1 Island, 1 simple Cross, 1 Horizontal, 1 Vertical.

-Alpha/Background.

-With/out shadow.(P.S. shadow doesn't hirt seamlessness)

-Grid for visualization.

Example:

Could someone tell me why this filter won't seamlessly tile?https://www.filterforge.com/filters/12483.html

Go into the filter editor > Overrides > and enable seamless tiling.

In terms of design, given the way Perlin Noise generates seamless tiling, it often looks too obvious that it's seamlessly tiling especially when the scale is set to a very high value. Sometimes turning it off is a good solution to create the appropriate look, although that's a sacrifice we have to consider.

I followed your suggestion and now I see why JoBox disabled seamless tiling. It just looks bad. Thanx for your help. smile:)

DJI wrote On previous page

From previous that did not know why the components gives wrong result from the default one

I had moved the size/pixels control because it makes for a more even distribution of cracks over the image. Then I promptly forgot what I did. Duh! smile:D I wonder if there's a way to get the same results without having to do that. I tried just reducing the scale but it wasn't the same really,or at least it didn't seem so to me

ii told you that I had the same problems and it seems that for you it was solved quickly, I took much more to figure out and realize that the problem was really that the size, pixels setting was different in source and destination as shown in this thread

FF 3.0.14 - Copying some components in filter editor they get modified

i thought that it was a bug, and then it was me that was copying from a filter with the modified size, pixels settings into a filter with default size, pidels settings and so the components get modified after pasting them

More one interesting thing - by-instance effect (color variation in my case).

If you wanna variate your filter in different Image-instances when lowering scale, you can use bomber with repeat = 1, it'll create 1 pattern for 1 Image, if you have quad base image, of course.

More over, you can variate different parts separately, or not variate some of them, and get complex variation by pretty simple way.

for example: body and illuminators are variated separately, dirt and shadows aren't variated.

Here's a little filter I'm tinkering with. I'm trying to figure out how to apply the image to the flat surface only and leave the crack edges white. So far no joy. smile:( smile:?: It's probably some simple little thing I'm missing. Any suggestions? Here's an example. smile:)

I remember when there was in the forum this kind of threads from FF experts that showed such cool, awesome and amazing things that nobody else would have thought and be able to do and the creativity was flowing, now there seems to be nothing like these things

More examples is like this one

Is this a proprietary filter, or just one that isn't ready for submission? Been a while since the example was posted... It can't be v.7.0!... is there any way I can get it from you?

Oldie but goodie... I just submitted the old 9-slice scaling filter (originally created in FF5 in 2015), after I thought I had lost it somewhere through computer upgrades. What's a better place to back up filters than in the online Library? smile:D
