I have seen in this music video that there is an old effect that shows an photo and then this is multiplied and duplicated many times and seems to be proyected in perspective like it would happen in a mirrored tunnel.
I have not found any filter in the library that can make this kind of effect. The only one that duplicates the main image and multiplies it is the 70's Video FX by Morgantao, BUT this is only in 2D and circular duplicated. Here Below I put what can be seen in the video as example of what I mean ![]() |

It's actually pretty easy to make this filter, but notice that it will require either a selection or a transparncy layer to work.
It would be an even easier filter to make if FF had any kind of recursive ability. ![]() |

I´m trying to create a mapscript that does things like that. It´s notfully working yet, but you could do the first example with it.
I posted it here uberblend And here is another toy for you where I used the script. Still a WIP because of the stacking not working as I want it ![]() Bubble Fun.ffxml |

Sharandra, the stacking mapscript you have put does not allow to show images, is only useful for colors, as the images are greatly reduced to simple colors, I mean if you use the FF Lifesaver, it is not a stacking of the lifesaver images, is just the color.
It would be good to have something like this for full size images. |

I´m not sure I understand what you mean.
I do see however that I failed to give instructions, my bad, it was late. ![]() you need an image with a transparent background, as Morgantao said. Or you could use a selction instead. You also need to edit the filter the script comes in and connect the image component directly to the mapscript. The other stuff wqas just to show the effect without needing transparency. The only issue I see, is the unwanted repeating that above certain spacing values. That still needs to be fixed. And maybe more options for the direction of the stacking? ![]() |

This was the missing part I was wondering why I should put the image through the Kaleidoscope ![]() Now that I have connected it directly the image to the mapscript it works in some similar way to the example you have put ![]() |

Here I give some suggestions of what I see from this actual filter
Thanks very much for your help and for taking the time to make this good filter Although I like the results given, I think it could be better if you could have less duplications if you want and choose to and that would be optional how many levels or rows of duplications you want and if they are overlaid or not. ![]() |

Hehe, nice examples Ray
![]() It´s at least usefull for creating cool patterns as it is now. Scripting is doing my head in, but I´ll try to improve it, so it will be more usefull in the future. It´s doing its job fine in the filter I made it for, but I can see that it needs more work to achieve what you were after in your original post. You could try to create that effect without a script using the Scale component, offset and a multiblend tho. |

Another version.
It still starts to repeat itself above certain spacing and repeat values, but I think it´s closer to your effect now. stacking mapscript 1.ffxml |

YES, this may not be the result that is supossed to be, BUT can be very good, interesting and useful for making beautiful and cool patterns !!! And could be possible to make another different filter just for making this patterns and would be great too. I will try the new version of the Mapscript, thanks very much. |
